Traders have been revamped with the release of 7 Days to Die 1.0. With this major patch, these merchants have a streamlined approach to providing quests and experience points (XP), albeit at a cost. So, without further ado, here’s what you should need to know about the traders in 7 Days to Die 1.0.

Unlocking Trader Quests in 7 Days to Die 1.0

With Update 1.0, one of your first tasks (called “Journey to Settlement") with the new Challenge system is to reach the first trader settlement in the Pine Forest biome.Reaching that location lets you meet the first trader NPC, Rekt. Interact with Rekt to receive the Stone Shovel as the reward for completing this objective. Next, he'll give you an introductory quest wherein you must dig up buried supplies at a specific location. Complete Rekt’s quest to unlock his other objectives, along with other trader quests for 7 Days to Die.Note: Traders in 7 Days to Die 1.0 and their settlements are only open at 4:05 to 21:50.

Trader NPC Progression

7 Days to Die 1.0 Traders Guide: Locations, Quests, Rewards, & More (2)Completing trader quests in 7 Days to Die 1.0 rewards players with XP, Duke's Casino Tokens (also called Dukes), and Tier Points (TP). Completing a quest tier for a particular trader opens a new trade route, leading you to the next merchant NPC. The order in which you'll meet traders in 7 Days to Die 1.0 is as follows: Rekt -> Jen -> Bob -> Hugh -> Joel.Additionally, here are the general locations for each trader in 7 Days to Die 1.0 to help you in your search for these NPCs:

  • Jen: Burnt Forest
  • Bob: Desert
  • Hugh: Snow
  • Joel: Wasteland

Note that each trader generally sells items under certain categories. In particular, Rekt sells food and farming supplies, whereas Jen offers medical items. On the other hand, Bob vends tools and items related to vehicles, while Hugh sells weapons and ammunition. Finally, Joel sells various armor pieces.

Tier Points

Also, completing higher-tier quests grants players better rewards, including more TP.Here’s a quick overview of the TP requirements and rewards for the different trader quest tiers:

  • Tier 1: Requires 10 TP and gives 1 TP per quest completion
  • Tier 2: Requires 20 TP and gives 2 TP per quest completion
  • Tier 3: Requires 30 TP and gives 3 TP per quest completion
  • Tier 4: Requires 40 TP and gives 4 TP per quest completion
  • Tier 5: Requires 50 TP and gives 5 TP per quest completion

Note: Clearing Tier 5 quests for a particular 7 Days to Die 1.0 trader NPC unlocks the 6th and final tier.

Trader Quests and Rewards

Buried Supplies

  • Description: Dig buried items using a shovel at the specified location.
  • Tier 1 Rewards: 2,500 XP and 250 Dukes
  • Tier 2 Rewards: 2,500 XP and 500 Dukes

Fetch

  • Description: Travel to the indicated POI and retrieve a hidden bag.
  • Tier 1 Rewards: 2,500 XP and 100 Dukes
  • Tier 2 Rewards: 3,750 XP and 200 Dukes
  • Tier 3 Rewards: 5,000 XP and 300 Dukes

Clear Zombies

  • Description: Eliminate all zombies at the specified POI or location.
  • Tier 1 Rewards: 3,000 XP and 400 Dukes
  • Tier 2 Rewards: 4,500 XP and 500 Dukes
  • Tier 3 Rewards: 6,000 XP and 800 Dukes
  • Tier 4 Rewards: 7,500 XP and 1,000 Dukes
  • Tier 5 Rewards: 15,000 XP and 2,000 Dukes

Fetch/Clear

  • Description: Retrieve a hidden bag and eliminate all zombies at the specific POI or location.
  • Tier 2 Rewards: 5,060 XP and 700 Dukes
  • Tier 3 Rewards: 6,750 XP and 1,000 Dukes
  • Tier 4 Rewards: 8,400 XP and 1,500 Dukes
  • Tier 5 Rewards: 16,900 XP and 2,000 Dukes

Restore Power

  • Description: Turn on the generator at a POI. Quests under this category are only available at night.
  • Tier 2 Rewards: 5,060 XP and 800 Dukes
  • Tier 3 Rewards: 6,750 XP and 1,500 Dukes
  • Tier 4 Rewards: 8,400 XP and 2,000 Dukes

Infestation

  • Description: Eliminate all zombies in a POI, which can include Feral and Radiated variants.
  • Tier 2 Rewards: 5,625 XP and 1,000 Dukes
  • Tier 3 Rewards: 7,500 XP and 2,000 Dukes
  • Tier 4 Rewards: 9,375 XP and 3,000 Dukes
  • Tier 5 Rewards: 8,400 XP and 2,000 Dukes
  • Tier 6 Rewards: 30,000 XP and 6,000 Dukes

Once accepted, travel to the quest’s location and interact with the floating yellow exclamation point.Note: If the quest’s location is a POI, interacting with the exclamation point resets the location, respawning the zombies and other threats in that location.A chime plays, indicating when the accepted quest is complete. Alternatively, you can cancel a quest by either failing by dying during the quest or manually halt its progression through the Quests tab in the Inventory menu.
