    1. Proven Expertise: ReSound has led the hearing aid industry with tech-first developments, from the earliest made-for-iPhone hearing aids to today’s Auracast-enabled models. With millions of users worldwide, ReSound brings trusted experience and reliability.
    2. Discreet Design: NEXIA is the smallest receiver-in-canal (RIC) hearing aid we’ve reviewed, offering a low-profile option that’s especially helpful if you wear glasses or prefer subtlety.
    3. Powerful Battery: With 30 hours of life on a single charge and a portable charger, Nexia provides extended wear and convenience, ideal for users who are on the go.
    4. Superior Background Noise Handling: Nexia’s advanced beam-forming tech and innovative in-ear microphone deliver exceptional clarity in noisy environments, making it one of the best in the market for handling complex soundscapes.

    What Users Say

    +

ReSound NEXIA receives strong reviews for its crisp sound quality. Some users note issues with Bluetooth connectivity on Android devices and slight discomfort from the in-ear M&RIE receiver. Read more reviews via our partners at ZipHearing.

    • "I had gotten so used to diminished hearing, I had no idea what I was missing. I no longer say “can you repeat that” or “what?” And my phone rings in my ear and all I have to do is tap the unit behind my ear. No more fumbling to get me phone out of my pocket in time to answer." - Richard
    • "I love my new Resound Nexia 9. They seem to pick up sounds my previous 5-year old hearing aids picked up and they seem to process background noise much better. I am very happy with my purchase." - Mitch
    • "My new Nexia “ears “ are very comfortable behind the ears. They seemed very loud at first but I have adjusted and are obviously better than my old “ears” . The sound is clear and less tinny . I can hear a phone conversation very clearly using the Bluetooth ability, although I still need my phone very close for the caller to hear me. After a day of wearing my “ears” the left one hurts, I think from the wire, however I have not had a follow up appointment so that may be fixable. The right side is no problem." - Fiona
    • "The rechargeable battery is a HUGE plus—no more keeping batteries on me at all times. The moisture resistance is another plus—no more bulky desiccant case. The charging case is small enough to be easily portable, but might be a bit uncomfortable in a pocket—maybe in a jacket pocket. It took me a few days to figure out a good workflow for getting the hearing aids to connect and stay connected to my Pixel 5 (listed on the manufacturer's website as compatible). The connectivity is good when it works but sometimes one of the hearing aids drops out and has to reconnect. I was not able to get them to connect to my work computer (a MacBook) using MFi." - Matt

    What Users Say

    +

Wearers have shared their experiences with ReSound's custom earbud-style hearing aids, highlighting both positive aspects and areas for improvement.

    Reactions

    • "Rather than a traditional hearing aid where they try to make it discrete, this one purposely stands out and looks more like a fashionable earbud." - Regular_Guy
    • "These are good for people who may not be "ready for a traditional style hearing aid" but since it doesn't look like a hearing aid, it doesn't come off as professional or accepted as well as a hearing aid. Be prepared to have to explain that it's NOT a bluetooth device while it's actually a hearing aid." - PeanutandBailysMom
    • "These are great for people with dexterity issues as the button is so big and easy to use! They also come in neutral colors too that can look more discreet and more hearing-aid-like for people concerned with that." - NedBigBy2

    Multi-Purpose Mic

ReSound Hearing Aids: Brand Overview, Latest Technology, and Prices (23)

ReSound's Multi-Mic and Micro Mic (slightly smaller) both come with a clip that can be placed on a companion's collar. Some users also set the multi-mic on a table near the speaker they want to hear more clearly. The remote microphone streams audio directly into your ReSound hearing aids. The Multi Mic also connects to loop and FM systems*, and has a mini-jack input for streaming audio from virtually any device with a headphones output.

    Phone Clip+

ReSound Hearing Aids: Brand Overview, Latest Technology, and Prices (24)

ReSound's Phone Clip+ allows hands free phone calls from virtually any Bluetooth-enabled phone. This device has waned in popularity over the last several years as more users can now access ReSound's streaming capabilitles directly through their hearing aids (no accessory needed). If you have an older phone or want hands free calling for Android devices (currently only available on iPhone) this accessory is a great option.

ReSound TV Streamer 2 and TVStreamer+

ReSound Hearing Aids: Brand Overview, Latest Technology, and Prices (25)

ReSound offers two TV streamers that send TV audio directly into your hearing aids without disrupting the regular stream of audio for other viewers. The older TV Streamer 2 provides a 22-foot range and simple connection with any TV or computer.

The new TV Streamer+ is smaller and offers a 100+ foot range. The new device uses Bluetooth Low Energy and supports Auracast, allowing multiple hearing aid wearers to tune into the same stream while controlling their volume. TV Streamer+ is only compatible with ReSound's new NEXIA devices.

    ReSound Remote Control

ReSound Hearing Aids: Brand Overview, Latest Technology, and Prices (26)

ReSound's remote control gives you the power to adjust your hearing aids easily and discreetly from under the table. Some users prefer a remote control to using onboard buttons or the ReSound smartphone app.

    How to get ReSound Accessories

All ReSound accessories are available at local clinics or through your hearing care provider. Prices range from $200 - $600 depending on the device and your clinic.

    Smartphone App

ReSound Hearing Aids: Brand Overview, Latest Technology, and Prices (27)

ReSound's smartphone app is one of the best rated among top hearing brands. This app is a remote control for your hearing aids. The app offers volume control, program change, and streaming bass/treble adjustment on the main home screen. You can also check your battery life, look for a lost hearing aid with the "find my hearing aid" feature, and check that your hearing aids are in your ears correctly with the "check my fit" feature. Read our full review of ReSound's app here.

    ReSound Vs. Other Market Leaders

ReSound hearing aids are often compared to market leaders like Phonak, Signia, Starkey, Oticon, and Widex. While the underlying technology and capabilities of each brand are relatively similar, there are a few places where ReSound stands out.

    Modern Connection

ReSound has a legacy of innovation when it comes to Bluetooth connection. The brand was the first to ink a deal with Apple in 2013 to make their hearing aids Bluetooth-streaming compatible. Ten years later, ReSound became the first brand to introduce Auracast capabilities to a hearing aid. Auracast isn't widely available yet, but over the next few years, the new capability could prove exciting and useful for ReSound wearers.

    Innovative Microphone Strategy

ReSound is the only brand on the market to add a third microphone inside the ear canal to their receiver-in-canal devices. The move gives ReSound an edge in background noise situations and reduces the sound of your hair touching your hearing aids or the wind.

    Leading Size

At present, ReSound has the smallest receiver-in-canal devices on the market. Their new "micro" model cut 25% off the size of their already small "mini".

    Drawbacks

Of course, there are a few drawbacks to ReSound's products. These are some of our notes:

    • ReSound is only available through local clinics (you can get similar tech with telehealth throughJabra Enhance Select)
    • ReSound does not offer the smallest custom-molded devices on the market (considerStarkey Genesis)
    • ReSound's in-ear M&RIE microphone is a bit larger and can be uncomfortable for some
